Boat Hire from San Antonio Port, Ibiza
Updated May 2026
San Antonio Port is Ibiza's main west-coast harbour — a large, well-connected port that faces almost directly into Ibiza's famous sunset. We arrange boat charters departing from here, perfectly positioned for sunset cruises along the western cliffs, visits to Cala Bassa and Cala Conta, and the iconic approach to Es Vedrà.
About San Antonio Port
San Antonio — Sant Antoni de Portmany — is the main town and harbour on the west coast of Ibiza. Most people know it for the sunsets, and they're right: the bay faces almost due west, and from the water in late afternoon, the light show is extraordinary. We've watched a lot of sunsets from a lot of places. The ones from out here, on the water, looking back at the coastline going gold — those are the ones people still talk about a year later.
The port itself is large and straightforward — ferries, water taxis, local fishing boats, and charter vessels sharing the same stretch of water. As a departure point, it's practical and unpretentious in the best sense. You arrive, you board, you go.
The west coast of Ibiza
Chartering from San Antonio opens up Ibiza's most dramatic coastline. Heading south from the port, the scenery builds steadily:
Cala Bassa — a sheltered, popular bay with a well-known beach club, good snorkelling, and clear water
Cala Conta (Cala Comte) — arguably the finest sunset spot on the island, a series of small beaches and flat rocks with shallow, brilliantly clear water
Cala d'Hort — quieter, more remote, directly facing Es Vedrà, and one of the most beautiful bays in Ibiza
Es Vedrà — the great dramatic islet, best seen from the water. It appears slowly as you round the headland, and the view doesn't disappoint
The sunset charter
This is what San Antonio is made for. Heading south in the afternoon, arriving at the view of Es Vedrà as the sky changes — this is the kind of charter that people book years in advance.
We arrange sunset charters from San Antonio for couples, small groups, and private parties. The route adapts to the wind and the season, but the experience is consistently one of the best things we offer.
